Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp is not a lodge you visit. It is a place you wake up inside.
Set at Katunguru Bridge near the magical Kazinga Channel, our camp places you within Queen Elizabeth National Park’s natural rhythm. The lodge offers 10 standard and deluxe cottages, making it an ideal base for large groups of 20 guests or more seeking an authentic Ugandan safari without sacrificing comfort.
From the lounge, the view stretches toward Lake Edward and Lake George. From your balcony, elephants and warthogs move through the savannah. The Kazinga Channel—a 32km waterway linking the two lakes—is minutes away and holds one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos.

Accommdation
A feeling of freedom, a sense of being absorbed in nature and an air of tranquility and seclusion floods every room in every cottage. Each room has been designed to make the most of the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape from every angle as well as offer a cooling retreat from the scorching savannah heat of Queen Elizabeth National Park – from the bed, the sitting area, and even the upper balcony.
Restaurant
International dishes, a fully stocked bar, and a lounge positioned to catch the sunset over the park. Robert and the kitchen team have earned consistent praise from guests for food that exceeds expectations in a remote setting.
Safari Game Drives
Only 12 minutes from camp to the game drive track. Morning drives catch lions returning from the hunt; afternoon drives find elephants moving to water. The Kasenyi plains are your best bet for lions, while the Ishasha sector—further south—is famous for tree-climbing lions.
Kazinga Boat Cruise
The channel is the park’s lifeline and its most concentrated wildlife corridor. Hippos line the banks in numbers you will not see elsewhere. Crocodiles bask. Elephants wade. And for birders, the channel delivers kingfishers, African Jacanas, Yellow-backed Weavers, Open-billed Storks, and Pied Kingfishers in a single trip.

Q5: Do you offer full board and half board rates?
A: Yes. We offer Full Board (FB) and Half Board (HB) options. Current indicative rates range from $75 for an extra bed** to **$150 for a twin/double on full board. Contact us for confirmed rates during your travel dates.
Q6: Is WiFi available at the camp?
A: Yes, we provide full WiFi access throughout the camp. However, as with any remote safari location, connectivity can be affected by weather and park conditions. We recommend downloading offline maps and entertainment before arrival.
Q7: What is the best way to get to Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp?
A: By road from Kampala via Mbarara (approximately 5–6 hours), or by air to Kasese Airstrip followed by a road transfer. The camp is 1km off the Kasese-Mbarara road at Katunguru Bridge, making it accessible without a 4×4 under normal conditions.
Q8: Do you arrange game drives and boat cruises for guests?
A: Yes. Our team can arrange game drives (12 minutes to the track), Kazinga Channel boat cruises, and guided nature walks. We recommend booking activities at check-in or in advance during peak season (June–September, December–February).
